About Laura
- New York born and raised, but Paris has been home base for me since 2002. (Disclaimer; I love both cities equally) After training in NYC studios: Circle in The Square, Stella Adler Conservatory, The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and with Warren Robertson, I spent 3 years paying back student loans with a colorful Comedia dell’Arte (backstage was more entertaining than onstage). And at The Wlliamstown Theater Festival I worked with Broadway directors Scott Elliot, Michael Greif, John Badham and Joyce Carol Oates on An Inspector Calls (role of Edna) , Therese Raquin (role of Suzanne), Hopscotch (role of Elise) The Life of Stuff (role of Holly) , Keith Redin’s Almost Blue (role of Liz), Andromache (role of Hermione), Early Morning (role of Florence Nightingale). My first role in the City of Lights was as Joan in 70 Scenes of Halloween directed by Chris Mack. In Paris, I directed multiple stage productions at Sorbonne Université. My agents Cindy Brace and later Talented in Paris, helped get me film gigs alongside Jean Reno, Grand Corps Malade, Medhi Idir, Tahar Rahim, Fabrice Eboué, Phillippe Prouff, Gary Marshall… I also teach acting and it turns me on to impart what works for me on stage and set.
How I Got Started
Thank you beloved and dedicated Gloria Landes School of Performing Arts in Westchester, where I got plugged in and turned on at 14 years old. There, every lively Saturday morning, we wore other peoples shoes and got real by listening… and reacting! Drama class taught by life-changing Mary Shelly, with scene partners like Vinnie Spano, Matt Dillon, Kevin Spacey who all crossed paths at that little school at the local church in Mamaroneck, NY. From there… NYU theater program and first paying job out of college with a New York based but roaming Commedia Dell’Arte company for 4 years.

Recognition
- Member Emeritus EVIDENCE ROOM THEATER (Los Angeles)
- Balancing 3-4 plates on one arm at a number of NYC trendy restaurants paid for many acting and dance classes. However, not knowing how to make a Tequila Sun rise, got me fired from an insanely lucrative NYC bar scene.
